The Palio degli Asini, (donkey race) in Cocconato was born in the 1970's summer on the occasion of the patronal feasts. Year afetr year the parade becomes even richer and more consistent with the historical period and the event attracts thousands of spectators.

The program:
Saturday, September 14th, starting at 6 pm, revival of an ancient Medieval Fair: workshops, medieval street performers, food and the investiture of the "Capitano del Palio" (Captain of the Palio).
Saturday, September 21th , in the village "Cena propiziatoria" (propitiatory dinner).
Sunday, September 22th, 2013 , at 3 pm, the "Sfilata medioevale" (medieval parade) through the streets of the historic center , then Palio degli Asini (donkey race).
